Two steps required. Before moving on, please make sure your system is Windows 7.
Step 1:
Download and install the newest driver for your wifi from here (32 bit, 64 bit) (Very important).
Step 2:
Click start, enter "cmd", press "ctrl + shift + enter". This allows you to open DOS under admin.
Copy paste following two commands into cmd, one by one.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Test key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Step 3:
Now launch your virtual router, it should work well.

Its working :) Thanks, but can I change my SSID name and password??
ReplyDeleteHi Sri,
ReplyDeleteBelow is a way to change the password.
1/ Click "Start", type in "Network and sharing center", and go into it
2/ On the left panel you'll see "Manage wireless network"
3/ In the list find your own network, right click it and choose "property"
4/ In the security tab, you can then change the password
For the SSID name, I guess you'd have to create a new network, since so far I haven't seen any way to modify a network's name. Anyway it won't take you too long to do it.
thank you thank you thank you!!!!
ReplyDeletethis has been driving crazy for weeks. I think it was connectify that messed everything up (virtual router was working perfectly before I tested it)
reinstall after reinstall of windows didn't work....
but this did :)
btw you can change the ssid and password by substituting with the "Test" and "password" words from the hosted network command from above.
ReplyDeleteeg
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=cannon key=newpassword

ReplyDeleteThe Virtual Router manager is working again but the Wireless connection does not have any Internet connection. When I go to "Networker and Sharing Center" go to properties of "Wireless Network Connection 2" (which actually is our Test Work Network) it shows there is "No network access for IPv4 and IPv6. I also have tried doing the Internet Connection sharing but can't find "Wireless Network Connection 2" in there. Could someone please help me? This is driving me crazy now.

ReplyDeleteHey the link in Step 1 is no good because the Intel page is not there anymore. I'm not sure what to look for. Please help.
ReplyDeleteHi all,

the group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation"
What should I do? Please help.

DeleteThat is not a problem. Goto network settings and goto adapter settings and you will find a wireless connection 2 disabled. Enable it. Goto local area connection>sharing tab and edit sharing through wireless connection. Now start the virtual router connection. It will surely work.
